1166 Bluetooth wireless imaging CCD scanner is successor of popular 1160 barcode scanner. It's again strong with its flexibility, ambient light adaptibility and reliability. The most important improvements are: reading distance from 2 cm up to 33 cm, more stable stand, replaceable battery where one of them can be charged in the new cradle and automatic switching between memory mode and online mode in dependance of wireless signal. The scanner of the transmitter - CCD 1166 - has all the best features of the CipherLab 1100 family scanners (include editable fields and scannability direct from the monitor of PC). The receiver - 3666 - can be plugged to the host PC through COM port (RS-232), through keyboard connector, or through USB port. The distance betwen scanner and transmitter can be more than 50 meters line-of-sight.
The firmware is easily upgradeable, and highly programmable. The scanner is capable to parse and edit scanned data before sending them to the host system. Another programmable features are e.g.: beeper volume level, scanning mode, reading negative barcodes, redundant reading before sending, etc. In combination with the low price it is the most competitive choice in the range of retail scanners. The device is system independent (Windows, DOS, Unix, PDA with Windows Mobile OS etc.).
